Samsung appears to be taking some design cues from Apple’s iOS for the upcoming One UI 7 update based on an early video (accidentally?) published on its Spanish website.

The footage provides an early glimpse at the visual overhaul coming to the skin. The most striking change is the revamped Quick Panel, which now features bubble-shaped icons for the quick settings toggles, reminiscent of iOS‘ control center. Gone are the text labels, creating a more minimalist look mirroring Apple’s approach.

The company has also rounded out the notification cards even further, giving them a distinctive pill-shaped appearance. This plays into the new “live activities” feature, which surfaces persistent tracking items at the bottom of the lock screen – sharing similarities with Apple’s Dynamic Island, though positioned differently.

The lock screen itself has been refined, and Samsung’s app icons now flaunt a more vibrant aesthetic with gradient colors and a subtle 3D effect. The video also seems to show off smoother animations across the UI.

Beyond these UI changes, the site suggests that Samsung is doubling down on AI capabilities. Some of the features shown off include Circle to Search for on-device object detection, image generation powered by AI, and live translation for phone calls.

The image generation feature is dubbed “Sketch to Image.” While it’s already available on recent Galaxy devices, One UI 7 is expanding its scope with options like 3D Cartoon, Sketch, and Watercolor.

What remains unclear is exactly when One UI 7 will begin rolling out to Galaxy devices. The company had showcased the new software at last month’s Samsung Developer Conference, with rumors pointing to a beta release for the Galaxy S24 series kicking off this month. However, that anticipated timeline appears to have slipped.

Samsung appears to be taking some design cues from Apple’s iOS for the upcoming One UI 7 update based on an early video (accidentally?) published on its Spanish website.
