The previous model, the Ascend 910B, also struggled with a yield of around 50%, thus limiting its ability to be produced at the scale needed for widespread commercial use.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, reports have highlighted limitations within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techopedia.com\/news\/huaweis-ai-ambitions-to-rival-nvidia-face-significant-setbacks\">Huawei\u2019s software ecosystem for the Ascend series<\/a>, particularly its Cann software, which has further hindered production efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>These production issues largely stem from the ongoing US government restrictions on Huawei, particularly limiting the company\u2019s access to critical semiconductor technologies, such as advanced lithography tools from ASML.<\/p>\n<p>These tools are essential for producing chips with the precision and efficiency required for large-scale production.<\/p>\n<p>However, the road ahead is edgy.
