SPIT is almost like email spam, but causes even more disturbance to victims given that the spam is in the form of a phone call. <\/p>\n<p>This term is also known as VOIP spam.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"techopedia_explains_spam_over_internet_telephony\">Techopedia Explains Spam Over Internet Telephony<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>VoIP platforms are vulnerable to unsolicited SPIT from telemarketers, system abusers and pranksters. Like privacy options set by chat software and email systems, VOIP systems can also make use of similar measures to prevent SPIT.
