With edge processing, devices can actually perform the<br \/>\nanalytics right there, where the data is collected, instead of sending the data back to a central<br \/>\nmachine handling all the processing. This saves a lot of bandwidth and<br \/>\nprocessing power by distributing computation.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"techopedia_explains_edge_scoring\">Techopedia Explains Edge Scoring<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Edge scoring is the process of offloading analytics<br \/>\nprocessing to IoT devices rather than just having them send back data to be<br \/>\nprocessed by systems.
