Its codename was Project Spartan. This browser offers features such as refined search, freestyle writing over Web page displays, and presentations for e-books and other reading materials.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"techopedia_explains_microsoft_edge\">Techopedia Explains Microsoft Edge<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft Edge was originally announced as a replacement for Internet Explorer, which had been the default browser in Windows operating systems since 1995. However, both Edge and Internet Explorer are included with Windows 10, with Edge simply acting as the default browser.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Edge requires at least 1 gigabyte of memory. It includes a new rendering engine, annotation features and easy-to-use icons, and allows users to draw on Web pages. The browser also offers better security and better organization than Internet Explorer as well as a reading list which is similar to (but separate from) bookmarks.
