Sony has unveiled the FE 28-70mm F2 G Master (SEL2870GM), the brand’s first G Master standard zoom lens with a constant F2 aperture in India.
The lens is said to have been designed for professionals and creators and is priced below Rs 3,00,000 (approx $3,547) in India.
Features and Specs
The Sony FE 28-70mm F2 G Master Lens weighs 918g and measures 92.9 x 139.8mm. It boasts an F2 aperture across its entire zoom range for improved bokeh capture and high resolution images.

The lens includes three XA (extreme aspherical) elements and advanced Nano AR Coating II for corner-to-corner sharpness, minimal flare, and suppressed reflections for clear images across lighting conditions. The 11-blade aperture unit and Super ED elements are said to enhance image depth and reduce chromatic aberration. The lens features four XD linear motors for improved autofocus with reliable tracking, ideal for capturing high-speed action.
It is compatible with Sony’s α9 III camera and supports shooting at up to 120fps. When paired with Sony’s α series cameras, it supports features like breathing compensation and image stabilization in “Active Mode.”
The lens is designed to endure tough environments and features dust and moisture resistance and a fluorine coating for easy cleaning. Control options include customizable buttons, an adjustable zoom ring, and an aperture ring with a click ON/OFF switch.

The Sony FE 28-70mm F2 G Master Lens will be available from November 29, 2024 in India. Priced at ?2,99,990 (approx $3,547), it will be available across Sony Centers, Alpha Flagship stores, Sony-authorized dealers, and major electronic retail outlets in India.
