Intel announced two product change notifications (PCN), revealing the discontinuation of several processors. These include the 14nm CPUs and the popular Core i9 processor.
Intel has already discontinued the main stack of its 10th-gen lineup. In 2023, it discontinued its 11th-gen processors. The company is now also nixing its remaining 14nm 10th Gen Core non-K CPUs, including the Core i5-10400F, a popular budget option, marking the end of the road for 14nm.
In its PCN, Intel revealed that it would discontinue the Core i9-12900KS, released just over two years ago. It released a special edition for the Core i9-1300K and Core i9-14900K, which will likely be discontinued in a similar time frame.
Discontinued Intel CPUs Available Until January
There’s still time to grab this CPU, with prices less than half what they were at launch – the 16-core CPU comes in at under $350 right now compared to $800 on release. That price is likely to increase after discontinuation, but Intel is accepting orders until January and fulfilling those orders until June. It will continue providing support even after the CPUs are discontinued.
No other models in Intel’s 12th-gen lineup have been discontinued.
