Supervive Open Beta Explained

The Supervive open beta test is an early trial phase for a new competitive multiplayer game developed by Theorycraft Games, a studio formed by veterans from major companies like Riot, Bungie, and Blizzard.

The first beta test was officially announced on June 25, 2024, through the Fireside Chat on YouTube, announcing that Project Loki would now take on the name Supervive. They revealed that the beta would take place from June 27 to July 4, 2024.

The open beta, launched in October 2024, lets players test out the game for free for a limited time. It runs alongside the Steam Next Fest and is designed to gather feedback before an official Supervive release date, which, according to Theorycraft Games, is expected to be sometime in Q1 2025.

What is Supervive?

Supervive takes the core mechanics found in MOBA games and expands them into a battle royale setting. Players can expect a top-down third-person hero shooter featuring a combination of mechanics found in League of Legends with battle royales such as Apex Legends and Fortnite.

The main Supervive gameplay consists of players forming squads (either duos or teams of four) to compete in a massive, aerial world. The goal is to be the last team standing, fighting both enemy players and AI-controlled monsters while scavenging for rare powers, equipment, and abilities scattered throughout the map.

Players can select one of 16 Supervive characters called Hunters, who possess a unique array of skills to use in combat. Each hunter is divided into various roles based on their playstyles.

The game’s unique selling point compared to other similar titles is the Storm Shift system, a dynamic feature that adds random game variables to each match. The nomadic storm changes where players can fight, similar to the storm found in Fortnite.
