What Is Arkham Intelligence?

Arkham Intelligence is a crypto data and intelligence platform that deanonymizes blockchain transactions to reveal the individuals, companies, and governments behind crypto activity.

Arkham Intelligence has its own crypto token called ARKM which is used in the Arkham Intel Exchange.

The Arkham Intel Exchange is a decentralized exchange for buying and selling crypto intelligence. Here, buyers can request intelligence by listing bounties. Sellers can also offer intelligence by conducting auctions.

According to Arkham Intelligence’s whitepaper, the Arkham Intel Exchange expects demand from crypto traders, investors, journalists, researchers, and other observers.

Understanding ARKM Utility: How Does Arkham Intel Exchange Work?

The rationale behind the Arkham Intel Exchange and the ARKM token, according to its whitepaper, is as follows:

“The economy for blockchain intelligence is fragmented and inefficient. There is significant demand for intelligence from traders, journalists, researchers, and other observers, and there is significant supply generated by the thriving community of on-chain sleuths, but there is nowhere for these two sides of the market to meet.”

On the Arkham Intel Exchange, buyers seeking intelligence list bounties by locking up ARKM tokens. Once the initial bounty is listed, anyone interested in obtaining the same information can join the bounty by staking an equivalent amount of ARKM tokens.

If the original poster of the bounty wants to be the only recipient of the intelligence, they must buy out other participants in the bounty.

Bounty hunters can claim the prize by submitting intelligence on the exchange. The submitted information is verified by the Arkham Foundation.

If the Arkham Foundation approves the information, the bounty hunter will have to wait 15 days to withdraw the entire bounty.

To prevent spam, the Arkham Intel Exchange requires bounty hunters to lock up 10 ARKM tokens to become eligible for participation. The staked amount is lost if the bounty hunter’s intelligence submission is rejected by the Arkham Foundation.

The Arkham Intel Exchange platform charges a 2.5% maker fee on submitted bounties and auction payouts. The platform also charges a 5% taker fee on bounty payouts and successful auction bids.

As of October 15, 2024, there were 11 bounties on the Arkham Intel Exchange.

The largest bounty offered 809.75 ARKM tokens (worth about $1,441 at the time of writing) to find a crypto wallet address linked to New York-based hedge fund Hunting Hill Global Capital. The bounty was set to expire in 115 days.
